Analysis of suspect asbestos containing materials includes polarized light microscopy (PLM) or transmission electron microscopy (TEM) for the presence of asbestos in building materials, and phase contrast microscopy (PCM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) for the determination of fiber concentrations on air samples. UNYSE specializes in efficient turnaround of sample analysis to assist the consultant, contractor or property owner complete hazard control.
UNYSE specializes in lead inspection, risk assessment, clearance and water sampling. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) is the most efficient method for testing paint while Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) offers the most effective determination of lead in soil, wipe and low concentrations in paint. Inductively coupled plasma (ICP)has greater speed, precision, and sensitivity and is used for detecting low concentrations of lead, including drinking water. UNYSE specializes in efficient turnaround of sample analysis to assist the consultant, contractor or property owner complete hazard control.
UNYSE laboratory experts provide specialized air, soil, waste and water analysis for metals, semi-volatiles, volatiles and other suspect hazardous materials. This includes analysis of samples for hydrocarbons, PCBs, phenols and the toxic characteristic leachate process (TCLP) associated with hazardous waste determinations. UNYSE offers technical assistance to sampling professionals and contractors to ensure that correct sampling procedures, containers and delivery procedures are utilized.
UNYSE offers analysis of mold swab, air and settled particulate analysis in fabric, carpet and other media. Analysis is conducted to identify the type and concentration of cultural and non-cultural molds and other microscopic substances in each sample. Laboratory reports reflect common units of analysis for spore type, and concentration by total spores and by volume. Analysis is conducted under AIHA and EMLAP accreditation.
